Baby Banks at 9 weeks

I truly believe that one of God's greatest works is the creation of life. While I have experienced a personal walk with God for over 20 years, pregnancy has drawn me even closer to the Lord. I am constantly amazed by pregnancy and the daily changes that will make up our little bundle of joy! Every day I read the new developments that are happening to our little one and I am amazed by the intricate details that God has for the creation of life. I am so glad that God has a plan for our baby. (and for me and Michael!) I know he is watching over and protecting our little one even now! (and I like to believe that our little one has a special guardian angel too..by the name of Louis Dickie!) :)

Michael and I had another doctor's appointment this past Thursday. Due to the fact that I have diabetes, my pregnancy is being followed closely by a maternal/fetal specialist. Therefore, we visit our doctor every two weeks for check-ups. Reports are wonderful though. We have been informed that my blood sugars are great and that my diabetes poses no additional risk to the baby. We had another ultrasound and we received the news that the baby looks perfect. We were also able to hear the heartbeat. (What a sweet sweet sound!) While I don't believe in old wives' tales, I did ask the technician how fast his/her heartbeat was and she said 186 BPM! If you believe in old wives' tales then you know the tale states a heart rate over 150 BPM means you are having a girl! We will just have to wait and see! (We should find out gender around late April or early May!)

On a funny note..
When I found out that I was pregnant, my cousin, Angie, recommended a book to me called "The Pregnancy Journal". The book is designed to inform you of changes in your baby's development each day. Basically, before you start reading, you open the book to the back and write your due date and write each date through the book (back to front). As you begin reading the book each day, you start with the day you conceived and work towards your due date! Very informative book! The other neat thing is that it will tell you the estimated conception date of your little one! So, I bought this book and wrote my due date in the back. When I had dated the entire book and reached day 1 (Conception Day) it was JANUARY 7, 2010!!! ROLL TIDE ALABAMA!!! Our child is already an Alabama baby!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! :)
